Holiday Traditions | Taking a Hair Break
It’s that time of year where we get a little nostalgic, so I’m going to stray from talking about hair or extensions and share some of my favorite holiday traditions. I love hearing about others’ traditions as well, so don’t hesitate to reach out and share yours!
My Family Has Strong Traditions
We do for every holiday but especially for Christmas. We gather on Christmas morning for a delicious brunch at my sister's house. Everyone brings the same dishes every year. It's a full house with 11 adults & 10 kids! After we eat we all gather in a great big circle & open gifts one by one. It goes on for quite a while but we laugh & connect with each other, which is the best part. It is mass chaos really, but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Another Childhood Tradition
Growing up, I watched my mom bake homemade treats for hours for friends & family to pass out at Christmas time. I always loved helping with a tradition that warms people's hearts. There's something about the time and love that is put into the goodies that means something. I have continued the tradition with my little family. Lane has helped me each year bake Christmas treats. It is a labor of love that I think means more than most things money can buy.
A New Christmas Tradition
Lane and I have started to put together little care packages for those that we come across that are less fortunate. It is quite simple: I buy those "hot hands" hand warmers from Amazon and keep those, plus protein bars and nuts, in my car so that when we're passing by someone out in the cold we can help in a small way. I truly think that the best feeling is seeing someone’s smile in appreciation for the small things we often take for granted.
I could go on and on, as I love this time of year, but those are a few of my favorites!
